Intro

Alright, welcome everyone to my running travel blog for the next two weeks in South Korea~

The purpose of this trip is to follow a group of six Kennesaw State teachers as they 'improve relations with diplomats and other universities, and forge stronger partnerships for the future'. One of the teachers going on the trip is Dr. Heeman Kim, who came to the US 17 years ago from S. Korea. Kim is my teacher for the senior project in journalism.
So I'm going along to document the two week trip, film it (alone), script it, and edit it down into a few different versions (one to present to the rest of the faculty, one for my project, etc). Once the project is done, it would also make a very nice addition to my resume.

Originally there were eight staff and two students, but another student never volunteered, and two of the staff had to drop for various reasons. So it's all me.
At first the two students were needed to man the camera and sound. But.. due to various.... issues, the only camera is my own Samsung HZ10W 10.2 megapixel digital camera. A good, powerful camera, but nowhere near the HD camera I'd been promised. Today I was provided the only camera the school would allow me (or the staff) to have for 2 weeks. A Canon DC100, mini-dvd camera made back in 2006. I can deal with the grainy image of the Canon, and muddled darks of the Samsung.. but what's going to really kill this project for me.. is the lack of any external microphone.

I've got one day before leaving, so not sure if I need to buy anything extra. Haven't even packed so much as a pair of socks yet. haha.

EDIT: Also, hopefully I'll get even more readers than last year, but those of you that didn't read it before, check out my 3 week Study Abroad trip to Japan.
